What is WinOLS?

 If you’re looking for a software package that will allow you to tune almost any car, WINOLS is the perfect solution. If you’re wondering what WINOLS is, it’s a binary editor that is used for reverse engineering the raw calibration file from your ECU. In plain English, this means you can use the software to find and define the various maps inside the ECU that you’ll need, in order to make tuning changes.

What will I learn from this course?

In this course, you’ll learn what OLS is and how it works. You’ll learn how to read and write the file from your ECU using bench, OBD2 or BDM methods. You’ll also learn how factory ECUs work and what maps will be contained within a specific model of ECU.

Most importantly you’ll learn how to use this knowledge, and the skill of pattern recognition to find and define the maps you’ll need, in order to make tuning changes. 

Next, you’ll learn a simple 6-step process you can apply when using WINOLS on any vehicle. This will ensure you get the right results, quickly and easily. 

Lastly, we include a library of worked examples where you can watch the HPA 6-step process being applied on a range of different ECUs, both gasoline and diesel, to really expand your knowledge.

It’s important to mention that this course only focuses on using WINOLS to find and define maps, and while we demonstrate how to use OLS to make tuning changes, this is not a tuning course. We do however cover OLS tuning examples in our practical reflash and practical diesel tuning courses.

This course will be ideal for you if you’re a professional tuner looking to massively increase the range of cars you can support. Or maybe you’re a home enthusiast who wants to tune cars that have no commercial reflashing support. OLS is the answer.
