EDC17C46 ECU is the control unit for this engine. EDC stands for Electronic Diesel Control and 17 is the generation for the ECU and C46 relates to microprocessor number for EDC17 Group.
We can read this ECU with the following information:

KESS: OBD VR, protocol 399

KTAG: (TSM Tricore) protocol 1165, Boot (Tricore) 199
